Telephotographs
by Richard A. Peterson
Reprinted from "INSULATORS - Crown Jewels of the Wire", July 1978, page 14
Enclosed you will find a couple photographs of a telephone line and
railroad signal line, both with several telephoto views of insulators found on
the lines (not on one pole, but several poles). Thirty years or so from now
these lines will be long gone, a thing in the past.
I not only collect
insulators, but I also take telephoto pictures of old insulators in service --
from telegraph lines to transmission lines. Whenever I go on a trip, I keep my
eyes open for any old lines that are worthwhile to take telephoto pictures of.
I would be interested to know if there is anyone other than myself taking
telephoto pictures of old insulators on lines. Paul Mohrs says that Scott Given
takes photographs of old lines in the Ohio Valley area.
